Tadley Community Church receive a donation of £250 from McCarthy Stone
Tadley Community Church recently received a donation of £250 from McCarthy Stone, the retirement community developer behind Yelland Place, to help provide ingredients for its annual festive Christmas Day lunch on 25 December. On the day, volunteers will serve over 80 meals to locals who would otherwise be alone at Christmas.
The donation, which was made as part of McCarthy Stone’s wider commitment to supporting local groups and projects in the Hampshire area, will help fund the annual Christmas lunch, held at Ambrose Allen Centre in Tadley. On the day, locals can enjoy a delicious freshly cooked Christmas meal, plus games, and other activities. There is also time and space to relax and chat if they wish to do so.
Nathan Brown, volunteer, at Tadley Community Church, added: "We are absolutely delighted that McCarthy Stone has generously donated towards our Christmas Day Lunch in Tadley. It’s so important to remember those in the community living alone with no visitors or family. This money helps us to serve the residents of Tadley and surrounding villages make sure no one spends Christmas on their own. The initiative started small, but today has grown into a large annual event, so we would also like to thank all our volunteers for their help organising the event.”
