Major of Chichester breaks ground at new McCarthy Stone development at Graylingwell Park

The Mayor of Chichester donned a hard hat on the 7th December 2023 in a visit to a new McCarthy Stone Retirement Living Plus development coming soon to Chichester.

Councillor Craig Gershater joined the McCarthy Stone team, including Development Manager, Gary Toomer, to take a closer look at the development plans and view the construction progress at Graylingwell Park - the largest carbon neutral development in the UK. The forthcoming retirement community will boast a collection of 62 low-maintenance, energy efficient and privately owned apartments, designed to support the over 70s to make the most of their retirement years. Helping to meet the housing needs for elderly people in the local area, whilst freeing up other properties in the process, the apartments will be available to reserve off-plan in early 2025, while first occupants are expected to make the move late Summer 2025.

Councillor Craig Gershater commented: “It was a pleasure to see the development plans and meet some of the team helping to bring it to life. I think it’s important that Chichester can offer not only greater housing choice for those looking to downsize, but also offers the chance to become part of a welcoming and friendly community of like-minded individuals.”
