Living in Swanland

Situated in the East Riding of Yorkshire, Swanland is enviably positioned to offer views of the rolling hills of The Yorkshire Wolds and across to the sweeping Humber Estuary. The village is beautifully maintained with a flower-lined pond providing an attractive focal-point near the centre, as well as a pleasing selection of well-kept buildings; two characterful churches and cherished civic architecture.

But the village of Swanland offers far more than just its picture-perfect views. Here you'll find a remarkably wide range of social and sporting activities, including a bowling club, snooker club, tennis club, Bridge Club, walking club and a branch of the Women's Institute.

Swanland likes to put on a good show on behalf of charities and community projects, and the village hosts a variety of festivals, competitions and events, including the bi-annual Swanland Festival, held in July, with an incredible choice of shows, stalls and special attractions. A notable favourite is the Swanland Open Gardens festival, where local gardeners can show-off their horticultural skills to admiring visitors.

The village Pub offers excellent dining, along with a fine variety of nearby restaurants in the surrounding villages. Two large supermarkets (Sainsburys and Waitrose) are located only two miles away in the village of Willerby.
