Things to do in Crewe

These new McCarthy Stone Shared Ownership homes in Crewe are conveniently located in the centre of this town which is famed for its engineering history. The town was built in 1837 when the Grand Junction Railway Company created the Liverpool to Birmingham line. The Crewe Works - a major train manufacturing company - was opened in 1843 and is now a heritage centre.

The town has a huge array of amenities including the beautiful, traditional Lyceum theatre which puts on a wide range of performances from stand-up comedy to musicals. It has a strong identity and community spirit, with lots of clubs and events including quizzes and live music at the Old Market Hall. This is also home to an eclectic range of independent shops and street food and there is a regular outdoor market too.

There are some stunning green spaces in Crewe. Queen’s Park is a gem. A huge expanse teaming with wildlife and walks, it also has a boating lake, play area and café. Queen’s Park even has its own golf club and there are two others nearby: Crewe Golf Club and Wychwood Golf Club.

This senior living retirement development is well connected by public transport. A new bus station is being built in Crewe’s centre and of course the town is well served by rail. You can be in central Liverpool in under 40 minutes.
