2019 Housing for Older People AwardsIn May 2019, we were pleased to pick up four awards at the Housing for Older People Awards, run by the Elderly Accomodation Counsel and voted for by residents of retirement housing. They included three silver awards for our developments, and most importantly, winning the Hero award for great work of Sharon Gratton, our House Manager at Rockhaven Court, Bolton.
2019 NHBC Health and Safety AwardsAlso in May 2019, we were delighted to win three 'commended' awards in this year's NHBC Health & Safety Awards. These awards are designed to recognise and reward the very best in health and safety, and to help drive up safety standards in the industry by showcasing and sharing best practice.
2019 Customer Satisfaction Five Star AwardWe were delighted to again receive the Five Star Award for customer satisfaction from the HBF and NHBC in March 2019, making it the 14th year in succession that we have received this accolade. 92.5% of our customers would recommend us to a friend and we have had a 90%+ score for each year of the award. We remain the only UK housebuilder, of any size or type, to win this award each year since it was established in 2005.
2018 Housebuilder AwardsIn November 2018, we were delighted that Horizons, our stunning development in Poole, won Best Retirement Scheme at the Housebuilder Awards. We were also shortlisted for Best Marketing Infinitive, Best Training Initiative, and Housebuilder of the Year.
2018 ARMA ACE AwardsIn July 2018, we were pleased to win two awards at the ARMA (Association of Residential Managing Agents) national awards. The awards were for ARMA’s On-site Staff Member of the year, which was won by Nick Twigger, our Estate Manager at Wilton Court, and ARMA’s Service Charge Accountant of the year, which was won by Julija Bizna, who works in our Head Office. We were also the finalist for ARMA’s National Managing Agent of the year.
2018 NHBC Health & Safety AwardsIn June 2018, we were pleased to pick up three NHBC Health & Safety Awards. The awards recognise and reward the very best in health and safety in the housebuilding sector, and three site managers, Rick Egerton, Mick Walters and Tony Barrowclough, were commended. The awards are testament to the continued care and attention we put into all of our developments.
2018 NHBC Pride In The Job AwardsIn June 2018, we were delighted to win 20 Pride in the Job awards, which recognise site managers who achieve the highest standards in housebuilding. The result was unprecedented for McCarthy and Stone as it is the largest number of awards ever received by the company.
2018 Customer Statisfaction Five Star AwardFor the thirteenth year running, we are delighted to have received the Five Star Award for customer satisfaction from the HBF and NHBC. 93.5% of our customers would recommend us to a friend and we remain the only UK housebuilder, of any size or type, to win this award each year since it was established in 2005.

SECBE 2017 Digital Construction AwardIn June 2017, we were delighted to win the SECBE Constructing Excellence Award for Digital Construction for our implementation of our new digital approach to design.
NHBC Pride in the job AwardsIn June 2017, we won 15 Pride in the Job awards, which recognise site managers who achieve the highest standards in housebuilding. The 2017 result was unprecedented for McCarthy & Stone - as it is the largest number of awards ever received by the company. It also marks a 50% increase in the number of awards the company won last year.
2017 Grantham Civic Society AwardIn April 2017, our new development Martin Court in Grantham was nominated by the local Civic Society for its stunning design. The award ceremony is on 3 June.
2017 Customer Satisfaction Surveys: 5 Star AwardFor the thirteenth year running, McCarthy & Stone has been recognised with a 5 Star Award from our customers through independent customer satisfaction surveys undertaken by the Home Builders Federation (HBF) and The National House Building Council (NHBC), and independently audited by the University of Reading. We are the only UK housebuilder, of any size or type, to win the 5 Star Award each year since the awards were established in 2005.
National Housing for Older People Awards 2017In May 2017 we were pleased that our developments were once again recognised at these awards, which are voted for by residents, staff and volunteers from retirement and sheltered housing schemes across the UK.
Rockhaven Court in Horwich won the Bronze Award for the 'Best UK Retirement Housing Scheme' in the 44 – 52 apartment category, while Clover Leaf Court in Alton, Hughenden Court in Hazlemere, Paxton Court in Tenby, Queen Elizabeth Court in Kirkby Lonsdale, and Speakman Court in Altrincham were all highly commended in their categories.

Housebuilder Awards 2016We’re delighted to have received double recognition at this year’s Housebuilder Awards. Our combined Retirement Living PLUS and Lifestyle Living scheme at Ramsay Grange / Lyle Court in Barnton, Edinburgh was awarded 'Best retirement scheme', the second year in a row we have won the award. We were also pleased to be awarded 'Best customer satisfaction initiative' which recognises the work which goes into ensuring we deliver a truly five-star service for our homeowners.
Health & Safety Awards 2016We were delighted to receive five NHBC Health & Safety commendations in July. The awards recognise and reward the very best in health & safety standards by housebuilders across the country and are driving up standards across the board by showcasing and sharing examples of best practice. To collect five awards is a great performance, giving us 8% of the total awards made to the industry. We were delighted that Paul Gethin, our site manager for Shrewsbury, then went on to win a Highly Commended award.

2016 Considerate Constructors SchemeWe are very proud to announce that the South East region has won a Considerate Constructors Scheme Award for its Turner House development in Midhurst.
National Housing for Older People Awards 2015In February 2016 we were pleased that our developments were recognised at these awards for the third year running. Rockhaven Court in Horwich again won the Gold Award for the 'Best UK Retirement Housing Scheme' in the 45 – 59 apartment category, while Queen Elizabeth Court in Kirkby Lonsdale won Bronze in the 'Best UK Retirement Housing Scheme' in the 34–39 apartment category.
2015 Housebuilder awardsWe were delighted to win the Best Retirement Scheme at the Annual Housebuilder awards. Building Safety Group Awards 2015We received a number of awards from the Building Safety Group (BSG), a nationwide health and safety consultant to the construction industry. This includes two Regional Site Manager of the Year awards, the Northern Regional Member of the Year award, and the National BSG UK Member of the Year award.
West Lancashire Design Awards 2015Coronation Court in Ormskirk won the Landscaping Category Award in the West Lancashire Design awards in October 2015.

Malvern Civic Society Award 2014Cartwright Court won the annual Malvern Civic Society Award in May 2014. The win came after the development was nominated by a member of the Malvern Civic Society who took a tour of the development during an open weekend and was impressed with what facilities were on offer to the elderly community in Malvern.

The Housebuilder Awards are arranged by the Home Builders Federation and the NHBC and recognise excellence and innovation in house building.
UK Over-50s Housing AwardsWe won two awards at the UK Over-50s Housing Awards in 2011 where we were praised for our innovation. We were judged to be the most outstanding Assisted Living provider in the UK in 2012. We were also very proud to win the Global Award. We believe that you should have the very best housing in later life. We think these awards demonstrate our commitment to that ideal.
