All our retirement developments are carefully located to be close to amenities and transport connections. And we offer a wide range of on-site social activities to make it easier to meet neighbours, make new friends and become a valued member of the community.

Championing the needs of older people

We are proud that our products and services make a phenomenal difference to the lives of our customers and the communities in which they live. We help our customers have a better later life, so they feel more connected, recognised and valued than ever. We know that later life is filled with possibilities.

Yet later life is often misrepresented and we live in an ageist world. Therefore we also want to provide a more positive view of what it means to be old. That means supporting, campaigning and speaking up for our customers and highlighting their contribution to society, as well as championing their role, wellbeing and happiness.

In May 2021 we published our Vision for Later Life report, which shows how we can make Britain the best country in which to grow old.

• Most of our developments are aimed either at those aged 60 and over (‘Retirement Living) or 70 and over (Retirement Living PLUS).
• Retirement Living PLUS developments offer flexible bespoke care and domestic services if required, as well as additional facilities like on-site bistros.
• Most of our retirement homes offer options to buy, to rent or for shared ownership.
