Living in Upper Norwood

Upper Norwood is just seven miles from the heart of London, and is a great place to enjoy the countryside while still being within easy reach to the bustling capital. Once the home of the Great North Wood, Upper Norwood is still a very scenic area, with great views over the City of London, the Docklands and Surrey. 

Upper Norwood is a great place to walk around - you'll see plenty of quaint 19th and 20th century houses, the Church of St John the Evangelist, designed in Gothic Revival style, and the local library. 

Crystal Palace Park is right nearby, a Victorian pleasure ground that has full-scale dinosaur sculptures, children's play areas, a maze and a concert bowl. There is also a National Sports Centre and athletic stadium. From the park, you can start the lovely Green Chain Walk, which takes you to the likes of Chislehurst, Erith, the Thames Barrier and Thamesmead. It's a lovely little spot to enjoy on a sunny afternoon!
