Raising vital funds with tea, cake and a raffle
Homeowners from Pearson House,a Retirement Living community for the over 60s in Broadstairs, Kent, invited local retirees to enjoy a fundraiser in aid of Pilgrims Hospice, which provides end of life care to those in need.
The welcoming communal lounge was decorated with bunting and balloons, while guests enjoyed tea and homeowner-made cake alongside a raffle with prizes on offer including a McCarthy Stone teddy bear and a variety of beers and wines. They raised over £150 on the day.
Sam Burley, Divisional Sales Director at McCarthy Stone, said: “An important part of what we do here at McCarthy Stone is to support our local communities and help create a lasting, positive legacy. We were delighted to be help raise much-needed funds for Pilgrims Hospice, while bringing the Broadstairs community closer together.
“I want to give a huge thank you to all those who attended and donated, as well as our homeowners who did a fantastic job of whipping up some tasty treats and overseeing the raffle. Anyone can see that the community spirit here is second to none.”
