Stanley Place, the perfect place for walkers in Garstang

Walkers are welcome to Stanley Place.

Garstang is conveniently located near to the River Wyre and the Lancaster Canal which makes it a great place for walkers. With easy access to the M6 and the A6. It’s also a handy spot to explore some fine local routes.

There are many benefits in walking regularly, from improving general well-being and mental health, to reducing isolation. It is a beautiful place for walkers who enjoy indulging in the stunning scenery of breath-taking landscapes within the area and further afield.

Exploring the local area

A fantastic circular walk through Garstang takes you on a route along the River Wyre, past a converted 18th century cornmill and under the aqueduct, and then leads onto the canal towpath. The walk finishes not far from the conservation area of Wildgoose Wood, before returning to the car park where it began.

Other lovely walks in the surrounding area include a hike past the long forgotten Greenhalgh Castle, where you will come across a lovely hidden gem of a church, and the Nicky Nook trek through Bowland Forest.
