There was cause for celebration last week as Mr Marcus Jones, MP for Nuneaton, paid a visit to officially open The Close – the latest development from the leading manager and developer of retirement communities, McCarthy Stone.
Mr Jones was joined by McCarthy Stone employees to perform a socially-distanced ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Retirement Living development on Church Street.
Mr Jones commented: “I was delighted to be invited to officially open The Close. It was wonderful to see how the construction of the development has taken shape since I visited last year.
“Developments such as The Close offer an excellent solution for those looking to enjoy an independent and active lifestyle in retirement, and I enjoyed seeing it first-hand. I think it’s important that Nuneaton is able to offer not only greater housing choice for individuals who are looking to downsize, but the chance to become part of a supportive, welcoming and friendly community, particularly given the impact that the Covid-19 pandemic is having on all our day-to-day lives.
“I look forward to popping along to meet with the new homeowners at The Close properly once everyone has settled into their new homes and restrictions have eased.”
Samantha Watkins, Deputy Divisional Sales and Marketing Director for McCarthy Stone, said: “We were thrilled to welcome Mr Jones to celebrate the official opening of The Close.
“We are committed to delivering an exceptional lifestyle and, as such, the development enjoys a prime location with access to a superb array of local amenities, allowing our homeowners to live independently with support when needed, and to cater to their individual needs.
“We are also focused on the safety and well-being of our homeowners during these unprecedented times and have been working hard to not only ensure that everyone remains safe, but that they all still feel part of the brilliant community we have here.”
To celebrate the official opening, current homeowners were also treated to afternoon tea in their apartments, courtesy of McCarthy Stone.
Samantha continues: “It would have been fantastic if we could have welcomed the first homeowners to The Close community with a celebratory get-together as we usually do, but obviously this year is a little bit different. We still wanted to mark the occasion and thought what better way than by taking a little bit of the party to them, that they could enjoy it in the comfort of their new home? We look forward to getting everyone together properly as soon as it’s safe to do so.”
The Close comprises a selection of 51 one and two-bedroom Retirement Living apartments, designed for people aged 60 and over. Two-bedroom apartments are currently priced from £249,950 or to rent from £1,500 pcm, and one-bedroom apartments are currently priced from £179,950 and to rent from £1,100 pcm . There are now more options available for those looking to downsize in Nuneaton, with rental options now available to make moving even easier.
The development features a homeowners lounge, perfect for socialising with new neighbours, and beautifully landscaped gardens with all the maintenance taken care of. Homeowners can also feel secure in the knowledge that the House Manager is on hand to provide any help or support should they need it.
The Close is located just a stone’s throw away from the bustling town of Nuneaton, which offers two shopping centres and a range of high-quality restaurant. Riversley Park is also close by providing a choice of pleasant walks, as well as access to a free Museum and Art Gallery. Homeowners can also take advantage of regular rail services to Birmingham and Coventry, from the train station just half a mile away.
More than nine out of ten customers would recommend McCarthy Stone to a friend, ensuring it has received the full Five Star award for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation for 15 years’ running.
