23 June 2021
The UK’s leading developer and manager of retirement communities, McCarthy Stone, is celebrating after six of its site managers were awarded the prestigious Pride in the Job Quality Awards, from the National House Builder’s Council (NHBC).
For over forty years these awards have been the most highly regarded in the construction industry and the ultimate benchmark of excellence. They celebrate the unique role that site managers play in delivering best practice and building homes of the highest quality. Just 450 site managers from an initial pool of over 10,000 are selected with all those successful then going on to compete for NHBC Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards.
John Tonkiss, McCarthy Stone CEO said: ‘’These awards are real testament to all the hard work and dedication of our site managers. They have delivered the very highest quality standards and have shown outstanding professionalism in what is a very important and demanding role. It’s an amazing achievement and my congratulations to them all.’’
The judging process for these awards is extremely rigorous. As well as undergoing spot checks of the day-to-day running of the site, each site manager is assessed across 44 areas of site management, including technical knowledge, consistency in the build process, leadership and organisational skills. Only those who demonstrate exceptional standards and outstanding quality receive an award.

Daniel Rutherford Hewson Court, Hexham
