The Town Mayor and Mayoress of Ampthill, Councillors Ian Titman and Maggie Fuller, donned hard hats to help lay the building blocks of McCarthy Stone’s new Clemens Place Retirement Living development on Woburn Road in Ampthill.
The VIP guests joined McCarthy Stone North London’s Managing Director, Andrew Wickett, and Site Manager, William Petrie, to take a closer look at development plans and lay a date brick to mark the start of construction.
Clemens Place will eventually comprise a stylish collection of one and two bedroom privately-owned Retirement Living apartments exclusively designed for the over 60s. Apartments will be available to reserve off plan in April 2020, with first occupations expected in August 2020.
Town Mayor of Ampthill, Councillor Ian Titman commented: “It was a pleasure to visit the site of McCarthy Stone’s new development in Ampthill and to see the progress with construction there. It was a great opportunity to meet the site team, most of whom live in the area and are very conscious of being good neighbours during construction. I was pleased to discuss plans for helping those who move into the new homes to integrate into the community and work with McCarthy Stone on supporting community projects.”
Andrew Wickett, Managing Director at McCarthy Stone North London comments: “We are delighted Councillor Ian Titman was able to take the time to visit our Ampthill site.
“McCarthy Stone is committed to designing flexible homes which allow people to make the most of their retirement years, and to live as independently as possible with the benefit of having extra support should they need it. It was great to be able to showcase the plans for some of the fantastic apartments that will eventually be available at Clemens Place.”
Comprising a collection of luxury Retirement Living apartments for the over 60s, Clemens Place will offer retirees the opportunity to downsize and maintain an active, independent lifestyle, surrounded by like-minded individuals.
The development will feature a club lounge; ideal for socialising with friends; landscaped gardens in which to relax; and a comfortable guest suite, should homeowners have friends or relatives to stay. A dedicated House Manager will take care of the day-to-day running of the development; while a secure entry system and 24-hour emergency call points will provide added peace-of-mind.
Located within the lively community of Ampthill, future homeowners can take advantage of Ampthill’s weekly market (a law passed by Henry III), as well as nearby Ampthill Park. For those who enjoy travelling future afield, Bedford and Milton Keynes are only a short journey away from the town.
