UK’s leading retirement housebuilder, McCarthy Stone, is set to launch its new Retirement Living development in Hazel Grove, with the first homeowners set to be welcomed in April 2020.
The developer has chosen to name the site on Commercial Road, Hampson Court, in tribute to the landlord, John Hampson, who opened the original pub that was formerly located on the site of the new development. The pub was first opened in 1840 and changed hands a number of times, latterly being called the Royal Oak before its closure in 2013.
Fiona Brooks, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for McCarthy Stone North West, comments: “We’re delighted to finally unveil the name for our latest Retirement Living development in Hazel Grove. We thought naming it after the original landlord of the former pub where Hampson Court is located was a worthy choice, having been in the community for such a long period, we wanted to keep that history and local connection.
“We are looking forward to becoming an integrated part of the Hazel Grove community, and we believe that our development will play a real part in helping to bring friends and family together in later life, something we feel is important and will bring lots of positive benefits to the area.”
Hampson Court will comprise of 12 one-bed and 28 two-bed luxury apartments, exclusively designed for people aged 60 and over, with apartments set to be released for off-plan sales in October 2019.
The new Retirement Living development will provide an ideal downsizing option for retirees seeking the privacy and independence that comes with owning your own home, but with additional help and support on-hand if required in the form of a dedicated House Manager, who will oversee the day-to-day running of the development.
All of the apartments will be fitted-out to the highest specification including a modern kitchen with integrated appliances, spacious and open-plan living areas, and stylish en-suite bathrooms. There will be ample communal space including a spacious club lounge, perfect for socialising with new neighbours, landscaped gardens maintained by McCarthy Stone’s expert team, and a hotel-style guest suite for when family and friends come to stay. Built with security in mind, there will be a camera entry system to the development, and all apartments will be equipped with a 24-hour emergency call system.
Future homeowners will benefit from a communal lounge, where they can relax and socialise with new neighbours, a guest suite for when friends or family come to say, and beautifully maintained landscaped gardens.
With security in mind, the development will feature a 24-hour emergency call system and a dedicated HouseManager will ensure the smooth running of the development and help provide peace-of-mind for homeowners.
Located in the bustling town of Hazel Grove, McCarthy Stone residents can enjoy a mix of independent and high-street retailers interspersed with delicatessens and specialist food shops, and it has a thriving café culture.
Each year brings Hazel Grove’s schedule of fantastic local events, including the town’s competitive music festival the glorious summer fair, as well as its well-renowned carnival parade. Transport links are excellent, with bus and train routes to both nearby Stockport and Manchester.
