Food bank receives £500 and Easter Eggs galore to help local families in need
After homeowners at Roman Court, a Retirement Living development in Middlewich, Cheshire, took it upon themselves to donate an abundance of Easter Eggs to the local Middlewich & District Food Bank this Easter, McCarthy Stone decided to add a £500 donation. The vital community resource based at Holly House Estate works to provide food packages and basic items to low-income families in Middlewich and relies entirely on donations.
As the cost-of-living crisis continues to bite and more people find themselves unable to afford food, the need for practical help through food parcels is expected to increase. The Middlewich & District Food Bank will use the £500 donation to stock up on non-perishable goods to ensure no families go hungry.
Nicky at Middlewich & District Food Bank, said: “We can’t thank McCarthy Stone and the homeowners at Roman Court enough for their support and generosity. With this money, we can provide families in Middlewich with important food packages, Easter treats and other basic items. Without donations we wouldn’t be able to sustain the food bank, meaning many families would have no choice but to go without.”
Louise Flynn, Divisional Marketing Manager for McCarthy Stone, adds: “Middlewich & District Food Bank is a fantastic community project and it’s clear to see the hard work that goes in to helping local families and individuals, week after week so we are delighted to play our part and help out.”
