McCarthy Stone, the housebuilder behind the Eleanor House Retirement Living Plus development on London Road in St Albans, has enlisted the help of pupils at Cunningham Hill Junior School to brighten up its development bus with an array of beautiful butterflies.
The Eleanor House bus service makes it even easier for residents to regularly access the town’s amenities and attractions, whilst also helping to connect them with friends and family. As part of its commitment to forming long-lasting relationships within the community, McCarthy Stone invited pupils from Cunningham Hill Junior School to put their own stamp on the bus and transform it for residents.
The children, aged 8 and 9, took on the task of decorating the Eleanor House development bus with colourful butterflies inspired by the McCarthy Stone logo, and it is now set to hit the town of St Albans for all to enjoy.
Jake Garwood, Year 4 Teacher at Cunningham Hill Junior School, said: “Fostering creativity that goes beyond the classroom is important to our pupils, as well as forming long lasting relationships within the local community. Our Year 4 class are very creative, so we were delighted to be asked by McCarthy Stone to create a design for their development bus.”
Tracey Muponda, Estates Manager at Eleanor House, said: “At McCarthy Stone, we’re committed to helping our residents maintain their independence and to enjoy their retirement to the full. The bus service is yet another example of how we support our residents, and it will help enrich the lives of all those at Eleanor House by facilitating trips across the town.
“We’d like to send our special thanks to the Year 4 pupils at Cunningham Hill Junior School for designing the beautiful butterflies. We have already had fantastic feedback from our residents, who are enjoying travelling in style.”
