McCarthy Stone, the retirement developer behind the Clements Place development in Ampthill, has given The Friends of Ampthill a boost with a £250 donation, to support the Ampthill Christmas Light Switch On, on Sunday 17th November.

The Christmas Light Switch On will be taking place in the centre of Ampthill from 2.30pm, where guests will be able to get into the festive spirit with seasonal food, a fun fair and performances from Maurice Kachuk and the cast of Cinderella, with the Christmas lights being switched on at 5pm.

Richard Holden, Fundraiser, at The Friends of Ampthill’s Christmas Lights said: “Financial support from local organisations is vital in enabling us to hold our popular community events.  We are very grateful to McCarthy Stone for its generous donation which will allow us to host another memorable and enjoyable Christmas Light Switch On for all.”

Julie Ward, National Sales Director for McCarthy Stone, commented: “The Ampthill Christmas Light Switch On is a fantastic event which brings the community together for Christmas, and we are looking forward to joining the celebrations. The team at McCarthy Stone’s Clements Place development wishes the Friends of Ampthill’s Christmas Lights team every success in providing a great event that everyone will enjoy.”

Comprising a collection of luxury Retirement Living apartments for the over 60s, Clemens Place will offer retirees the opportunity to downsize and maintain an active, independent lifestyle, surrounded by like-minded individuals.

The development will feature a club lounge; ideal for socialising with friends; landscaped gardens in which to relax; and a comfortable guest suite, should residents have friends or relatives to stay.  A dedicated House Manager will take care of the day-to-day running of the development; while a secure entry system and 24-hour emergency call points will provide added peace-of-mind.

Located within the lively community of Ampthill, future residents can take advantage of Ampthill’s weekly market (a law passed by Henry III), as well as nearby Ampthill Park. For those who enjoy travelling future afield, Bedford and Milton Keynes are only a short journey away from the town.

This Christmas, McCarthy Stone is hosting free ‘At-Home’ Christmas events at selected developments up and down the country.  The events have been designed to bring people together to celebrate the festive season, along with a glass of mulled wine, indulgent treats and a seasonal soundtrack.
