The legendary broadcaster shared gardening tips at the official opening of our new assisted living housing development for over 70s in Hertfordshire.

Baldock retirees were delighted to welcome Alan Titchmarsh MBE to help celebrate the Grand Opening of Norton Place Retirement Living PLUS development for the over 70s. He led a demonstration on planting in cold weather and winter bedding before the ceremonial ribbon cutting.

Guests at the event, including homeowners and their friends and family, spent time getting to know Alan in the beautiful lounge over a glass of fizz and canapés.

From his early days as a gardener at the Royal Botanic Gardens to his stellar radio and TV career, Alan is one of the country’s best loved broadcasters. Aged 74, he continues to grace our screens on shows such as Love Your Garden and Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh.

Alan says: “I was delighted to be invited to Norton Place for the Grand Opening. It was so wonderful to meet with all the homeowners and their guests, and an absolute joy to be a part of the celebrations here in Baldock.”
