Homeowners and staff at McCarthy Stone’s Birch Place Retirement Living Plus development, on Dukes Ride in Crowthorne, were joined by retirees for a spectacular afternoon of ballroom dancing last week with special guests Anton Du Beke and Erin Boag.

Known as ‘the golden couple’ of Strictly Come Dancing, Anton and Erin have become Britain’s most recognised and well-regarded ballroom partnership, bringing glitz, glamour and elegance to every performance.  The couple have danced together professionally for over 20 years and Anton has appeared in every series of Strictly since its launch in 2004.

Guests who attended the special event at Birch Place enjoyed impressive performances from the professionals; and after wowing everyone with dances such as the Viennese Waltz, the Quickstep and the Waltz, Anton and Erin demonstrated some popular moves to help attendees improve their own techniques.

Julie Ward, National Sales Director for McCarthy Stone South East, said: “Our ballroom dancing event was a great success. Anton and Erin put on a fantastic performance for our homeowners and guests, and everyone loved getting involved and meeting the golden couple. If people were not up and dancing, then they were certainly tapping their toes.

“The event was a good chance for us to showcase the wide variety of activities we host here at Birch Place, and to provide people with an insight into the lives homeowners enjoy at the development. We thank Anton and Erin for putting on a stunning show.”

As well as dancing the afternoon away with the Strictly Come Dancing stars, guests at the ballroom event were able to take a closer look at Birch Place. There was an opportunity to take a tour of the show complex, meet the McCarthy Stone team, and chat with retirees who are already living at the development.

Comprising a selection of 51 one and two bedroom Retirement Living Plus apartments, exclusively designed for people aged 70 and over, Birch Place provides everything people in Crowthorne could want for a relaxing retirement.

Bridging the gap between conventional Retirement Living and residential care, Retirement Living Plus enables older people to retain independence in the form of home ownership, yet still have the peace-of-mind of a range of additional security and support services. Bespoke personal packages are available for retirees who need extra support – from help with laundry or cleaning, to round the clock personal care to suit their individual needs.

The award-winning shared lounge and bistro restaurant is perfect for socialising with new neighbours, and homeowners can make the most of beautiful landscaped gardens knowing all the maintenance is taken care of.

They can also feel secure in the knowledge that the Estates Manager is on hand to provide any help or support should they need it.

Prices at Birch Place currently start from £310,000 for a one bedroom apartment and from £420,000 for a two bedroom apartment.

More than nine out of ten customers would recommend McCarthy Stone to a friend, ensuring it has received the full Five Star award for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation for 14 years’ running.  McCarthy Stone is the only UK housebuilder of any size or type to achieve this accolade, which is every year the awards have been run.
