5th December 2019
Southampton locals recently joined residents at The Boathouse Retirement Living development on Riverdene Place in Bitterne Park to get into the Christmas spirit at an exclusive free festive event.
Those who came along were treated to mouth-watering mince pies and a warming glass or two of mulled wine, all whilst enjoying a sparkling showcase by the St Denys Primary School choir, who performed live renditions of festive favourites and Christmas carols.
The event was part of McCarthy Stone’s series of ‘At Home’ events, which are happening at selected developments across the UK throughout December, and have been inspired by the social tradition of days gone-by that sees friends and family gather at home to celebrate the festive season. Everyone who attended also had the opportunity to take a tour of The Boathouse, meet with current residents, and find out more about the lifestyle that McCarthy Stone offers.
Geoff Bates, Head of Marketing at McCarthy Stone South, comments: “Everyone who came along to our ‘At Home’ event had a wonderful time. It was a great opportunity for locals to see for themselves what a close-knit and supportive community we have here at The Boathouse, whilst getting into the festive spirit.
“I’d like to thank the pupils from St Denys Primary School for their brilliant performance and helping to get our festive season off to a fantastic start!”
