Stratford-upon-Avon retirees this week gave a warm welcome to Mayor Jason Fojtik who joined them recently to celebrate the Grand Opening of a new Retirement Living development on Alcester Road. The Mayor, guest of honour at the event, led the celebrations at McCarthy Stone’s aptly-named Romeo Place, where he met new homeowners and the McCarthy Stone team before performing a ceremonial ribbon-cutting.
Guests at the event spent time chatting and enjoying music from saxophonist Thomas Hinx in the beautiful communal lounge over a glass of fizz and delicious light-bites, before taking a guided tour of the superb facilities within the development.
Commenting on his visit, the Mayor said: “I was delighted to be invited to the Romeo Place for the Grand Opening. It was wonderful to meet with all the new homeowners and their guests, and an absolute joy to be a part of the celebrations here in Stratford-upon-Avon.”
Kirsty Payne, Sales Director at McCarthy Stone, added: “The opening was a fantastic occasion and our guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves. On behalf of the team and our homeowners, we’d like to say a huge thank you to the Mayor for joining us and making it such a memorable occasion. We were also delighted to welcome back children from nearby Stratford-upon-Avon Primary school. The Reception class had previously visited to lay bricks and watch the cranes at work, and were excited to see the finished homes – enjoying exploring the gardens and the views from the balconies.
“Romeo Place provides a unique brand of retirement living in the local area with independence and community at its heart. With a wealth of social activity on offer and a friendly management team on-hand, homeowners and their families can enjoy peace of mind that everything is taken care of, and help is nearby.”
A full and varied lifestyle is on offer at Romeo Place, with 55 one and two-bedroom well-appointed retirement apartments designed to meet the specific needs of the over 60s, and enviable shared spaces where new friendships can flourish. These include a spacious lounge and attractive landscaped gardens, along with a handy guest suite for when loved ones stay overnight.
For peace of mind, there is a House Manager on-site during office hours to oversee the day-to-day running of the development, in addition to a 24-hour emergency call system and door camera entry.
