Trinity Methodist Church welcomes a £500 donation boost

Trinity Methodist Church is located in the village of Codsall and has been providing services to the local community for well over 50 years. However, due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Church hasn’t been able to operate as usual and has had to come up with more creative ways to connect with and serve the community.

Thanks to the donation from McCarthy Stone, the church will now be able to begin work on installing technology to enable it to livestream worship, weddings, funerals and other community events straight into people’s homes The facility will also be available to community groups who use the church.

McCarthy Stone’s Alison Dee presented the team at Trinity Methodist Church with a cheque for £500, which will be used to kick start the project and purchase the first bits of equipment necessary to get the streaming underway.

Rev Dr Joanne Cox-Darling, Minister at Trinity Methodist Church, said: “We are very grateful to McCarthy Stone for its generous donation. It has been difficult to reach out the community at this time, with our message being to stay at home and stay safe. However, a lot of the people who come here have missed the social aspect of worship, as well as the opportunity to enjoy the weddings of friends and family or pay their respects at the funeral of a love one. We’re hoping that by being able to provide a livestreaming service we can help everyone to benefit from our services again and bring our community back together.”

Samantha Watkins, Deputy Divisional Sales and Marketing Director for McCarthy Stone, said: “Here at McCarthy Stone, we appreciate our responsibilities go further than building high-quality retirement apartments - we also seek to create a positive legacy in the communities in which we build.  Trinity Methodist Church is an important pillar of its local community, with several of our residents attending the church. We value Trinity Methodist Church for the hard work they do in the area, and we hope our support keeps the service going for generations to come.”
