McCarthy Stone, the house builder behind the Wayfarer Place Retirement Living Plus development on The Dean in New Alresford, has donated £250 to the New Alresford Town Trust.

The Town Trust, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in July this year, carries out charitable work that helps the less fortunate in and around New Alresford,  as well as operating a minibus service for those who have no access to transport or need specialist help to get out and about.

The donation by McCarthy Stone will be used to help fund the minibus service and ensure those that rely on it are able to continue to visit the shops, attend appointments and even go on day trips.

Kirsty Pennicott, Estates Manager at McCarthy Stone’s Wayfarer Place development, presented the cheque to Robin Atkins, Chair of New Alresford Town Trust, alongside Trustees Pam Stevens and Ernie Jeffs.

Robin Atkins from the Town Trust commented: “We are dedicated to supporting the local community as much as we can, and our minibus provides a vital service to all those who need that little bit of extra help getting around the town and surrounding area.

“However, in order for us to offer our services, we are dependent on the support of others, which is why we’re thrilled to have received £250 from McCarthy Stone, and we can’t thank the team enough for their contribution.”

Geoff Bates, Head of Marketing for McCarthy Stone South, added: “An important part of what we do here at McCarthy Stone is support initiatives in the towns and communities in which we build to help create a lasting, positive legacy.

“It was an absolute pleasure to present this donation to the team at the Town Trust. The Trustees have done some fantastic work over the last 50 years, and we’re delighted to be a part of the town’s history. All of us here at McCarthy Stone in New Alresford wish them every success with their work in helping to improve lives of so many within the community.”

Designed for the over 70s, Wayfarer Place features an on-site bistro, a communal lounge, which is ideal for socialising with friends and new neighbours, beautifully landscaped gardens in which to relax, and a convenient guest suite should friends or relatives wish to stay.

Residents at the development benefit from having an Estates Management team on-site 24 hours a day; and tailored care packages and domestic support will be available for those who need a helping hand. A security entrance system and emergency call points will provide added peace-of-mind for residents and their families.

More than nine out of ten customers would recommend McCarthy Stone to a friend, ensuring it has received the full Five Star award for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation for 14 years’ running. McCarthy Stone is the only UK house builder of any size or type to achieve this accolade for 14 consecutive years, which is every year the awards have been run.
