Local retirees from McCarthy Stone’s Wayfarer Place Retirement Living Plus on The Dean were recently treated to a series of festive events to help them truly get into the Christmas spirit.

Residents indulged in mouth-watering mince pies, along with a warming glass or two of mulled wine, all whilst enjoying a sparkling showcase by the Sun Hill Junior School Choir, who performed live renditions of festive favourites and Christmas carols.

The event was part of McCarthy Stone’s series of ‘At Home’ events, which are happening at selected developments across the UK throughout December, inspired by the social tradition of days gone-by that sees friends and family gather at home to celebrate the festive season.

The team at the development also hosted a special Christmas Fair, where local retirees were invited to experience what Christmas is like at Wayfarer Place. Guests were able to chat to the friendly community, as well as take a closer look at the apartments.

Geoff Bates, Head of Marketing for McCarthy Stone South, said: “Everyone who came along to our festive events had a wonderful time. The Christmas Fair was a great opportunity for locals to see for themselves what a close-knit and supportive community we have here at Wayfarer Place, whilst getting into the festive spirit.

“I’d also like to thank the pupils from Sun Hill Junior School for their brilliant performance and helping to get our festive season off to a fantastic start!”

Designed for the over 70s, Wayfarer Place features an on-site bistro, a communal lounge, which is ideal for socialising with friends and new neighbours, beautifully landscaped gardens in which to relax, and a convenient guest suite should friends or relatives wish to stay.

Residents at the development benefit from having an Estates Management team on-site 24 hours a day; and tailored care packages and domestic support will be available for those who need a helping hand. A security entrance system and emergency call points will provide added peace-of-mind for residents and their families.

More than nine out of ten customers would recommend McCarthy Stone to a friend, ensuring it has received the full Five Star award for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation for 14 years’ running.  McCarthy Stone is the only UK house builder of any size or type to achieve this accolade for 14 consecutive years, which is every year the awards have been run.
