McCarthy Stone, the UK’s leading developer and manager of retirement communities, has revealed its new Retirement Living development, on Clear View Farm in Quorn, has been named Farnham House, with the neighbouring development of bungalows taking the name Mill Gardens

Mill Gardens was chosen to pay honour to the areas rich history of quarrying, which stretches back to the Iron Age. Some of the larger millstones can still be seen in the area today, serving as garden ornaments and worked into other decorations. Whilst Farnham House, was selected in honour of the family who built Quorn Hall in the 15th century.

Apartments and bungalows at Farnham House and Mill Gardens will be available to buy off-plan in March and the first residents are expected to move into their new homes in September. A CGI has today been released to show how the development will look once complete.

Samantha Watkins, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for McCarthy Stone, commented: “We wanted to choose a name for our new Quorn development that is not only meaningful, but also resonates with local people and future McCarthy Stone residents.

“We have held three separate discovery days, and the attendance and enthusiasm for the development has been absolutely fantastic. The local residents have really welcomed us to the area and we can’t wait to develop strong links with them.”

Once complete, Farnham House will comprise of 48 luxury one and two-bedroom Retirement Living apartments for the over 60s, offering retirees the opportunity to downsize and maintain an active, independent lifestyle, surrounded by like-minded individuals. Mill Gardens will also feature 3 one-bedroom bungalows and 9 two-bedroom bungalows

The development will feature a communal lounge; ideal for socialising with friends; landscaped gardens in which to relax; and a comfortable guest suite, should residents have friends or relatives to stay.  A dedicated House Manager will take care of the day-to-day running of the development; while a secure entry system and 24-hour emergency call points will provide added peace-of-mind.

Located in the heart of the village, Farnham House and Mill Gardens are ideally situated for easy access to all of the amenities in Quorn, including a range of shops, eateries and large green parks. There are also excellent public transport links to Loughborough, Leicester and further afield.
