McCarthy Stone, the developer behind the Lancer House Retirement Living Plus development – which is currently under construction on Butt Road – has donated £250 to Age Concern Colchester & North East Essex following an appeal for a local charity to support in the area.
Located on North Hill, Age Concern Colchester is an independent charity providing services and support for older people in the Colchester area. Its mission is to boost the welfare and quality of life for people in the borough and those who care for them, through advice, information and knowledge.
McCarthy Stone’s Area Sales Manager, Chad Goldsmith presented Simon Prestney, Chief Executive Officer of Age Concern with a cheque for £250, which will be used to support their Advice Service, helping to combat poverty, improving mobility, rehousing and ensuring the right care choices are in place to improve health and wellbeing.
Simon Prestney, Chief Executive Officer of Age Concern, said: “After seeing McCarthy Stone’s charity appeal, we decided to apply as we are always in need of extra funding. We rely solely on the generosity of local people and businesses, so securing this donation from McCarthy Stone gives us a real boost and helps us to continue to make a difference to the lives of older people in and around Colchester.”
McCarthy Stone’s Area Sales Manager, Chad Goldsmith added: “As a company, we appreciate our responsibilities go further than building quality retirement apartments, and we also seek to create a positive legacy in the towns and cities in which we build.
