Last week, residents and staff at McCarthy Stone’s new Southborough Gate Retirement Living development in Pinewood Gardens invited local people to join them for an afternoon of tasting seasonal food and treats.
Residents and guests had the opportunity to enjoy a delicious hog roast, speak to a local chocolatier, try homemade pickles and get their hands on other tasty treats to take home. The event also gave attendees the opportunity to take a tour of the show complex at Southborough Gate, meet the McCarthy Stone team, and chat with retirees who are already living at the development.
Julie Ward, National Sales Director for McCarthy Stone, commented: “It was wonderful to bring the residents and members of the local community together at Southborough Gate for an afternoon of sampling delicious winter-themed homemade foods.
“The event is just one example of the many exciting and interesting activities we regularly host at the development to enrich the quality of life of residents and their families, and bring the local community together.”
Comprising a selection of one and two-bedroom apartments, Southborough Gate offers Southborough retirees the opportunity to downsize and maintain an active, independent lifestyle, surrounded by like-minded individuals.
The development features a communal lounge, ideal for socialising with friends, beautifully landscaped gardens in which to relax, and a convenient guest suite should residents have friends or relatives to stay. A House Manager takes care of the smooth day-to-day running of the development; while security entrance systems and 24-hour emergency call points provide added peace-of-mind for residents and their families.
Southborough Gate residents also benefit from Southborough’s desirable location, within easy reach of Tonbridge and Royal Tunbridge Wells. For those who wish to stay closer to home, Southborough boasts a selection of cafes, pubs and restaurants, as well as picturesque walking and cycling routes.
This Christmas, McCarthy Stone is hosting free ‘At-Home’ Christmas events at selected developments up and down the country. The events have been designed to bring people together to celebrate the festive season, along with a glass of mulled wine, indulgent treats and a seasonal soundtrack.
