McCarthy Stone, the housebuilder behind the Albert Court Retirement Living Plus development in Henley-on-Thames, has donated £500 to local charity, the Henley HandyBus.
Serving people in and around Henley for over 30 years, the Henley HandyBus helps locals who have no access to transport or need specialist help to get around the town and further afield. The HandyBus relies on donations and sponsorship, to transport residents across Henley on a daily basis and can accommodate up to 14 passengers and one wheelchair on each trip.
Richard Hodgkin, Chairman of the Henley HandyBus, comments: “The bus service provides a valuable transport service to those who have limited transport facilities and find it difficult to move around Henley. It is great to receive donations to help cover the costs of the service, and the support from McCarthy Stone will go towards the running costs of the bus.”
Julie Ward, National Sales Director for McCarthy Stone, comments: “We are delighted to support the Henley HandyBus as it provides an excellent service that a lot of our residents at Albert Court take advantage of. As a company we appreciate that our responsibilities go further than developing quality retirement properties - we also seek to create a positive legacy and make a difference in the communities in which we build.”
Comprising a selection of 55 one and two bedroom Retirement Living Plus apartments, exclusively designed for people aged 70 and over, Albert Court provides everything residents could want for a relaxing retirement.
The communal lounge is perfect for socialising with new neighbours and a bistro serves freshly-prepared meals daily for those who do not wish to cook in their apartments. Flexible domestic and personalised care packages are available for residents at Albert Court, which can be tailored to provide varying levels of support according to individual needs. A dedicated Estates Manager takes care of the smooth running of the development, providing peace-of-mind for residents and their families.
Albert Court benefits from good public transport links, providing easy access to surrounding areas including Reading town centre. The train station is less than a mile away and has regular services to Twyford, London Paddington and Reading.
McCarthy Stone is also giving retirees the opportunity to live their retirement years to the full, by offering up to £5,000 off or one month’s rent free on selected apartments.
The incentive, from the leading manager and developer of retirement communities, is available for eligible buyers and renters at Albert Court on selected properties who reserve before 29th February 2020*.
