Olympic Golden Girl, Lady Mary Peters, was joined by local retirees for the grand opening of McCarthy Stone’s latest Market Harborough development, Elizabeth Place.
Lady Mary Peters, who is best known for winning a gold medal in the pentathlon at the Munich Olympics, visited the Retirement Living development on Trimbush Way to share the story of her life from Olympian to becoming a national treasure.
Mary commented: “It was a pleasure to visit Elizabeth Place and give a talk on my colourful career. The development provides an excellent solution for all those looking to enjoy an independent and active lifestyle in retirement, and I enjoyed meeting and chatting to residents. It’s clear everyone values the quality of life afforded by their surroundings and the freedom of having a range of services on their doorstep.”
Samantha Watkins, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for McCarthy Stone, commented: “We are delighted so many Market Harborough retirees and their families joined us for the grand opening of Elizabeth Place, and we are very grateful to Lady Mary Peters for making it a day to remember!
