Despite the uncertainties and challenges that the pandemic has presented, the team at Plas Elyrch has worked closely with its homeowners, to ensure that they could move into their new homes safely and benefit from being part of a new, welcoming, community during these turbulent times.

To celebrate to occasion and help them to settle into their new home, each homeowner was also presented with a welcome gift, including a hamper of goodies and flowers.

Judy Hamm, one of the first homeowners to join Plas Elyrch, comments: “I am absolutely thrilled with my new home at Plas Elrych. The apartment’s got everything I need, including a lovely balcony with amazing views of the Sugar Loaf. The team here have been absolutely wonderful helping us to settle in and I look forward to getting to know my new neighbours, especially as restrictions are starting to ease. I love the apartment and couldn’t be happier in my new home!”

Samantha Watkins, Deputy Divisional Sales and Marketing Director for McCarthy Stone, said: “We are delighted to welcome our first homeowners to Plas Elyrch. It’s been an uncertain and challenging time for us all over the last year, so it is wonderful that we have been able to create a fantastic new, friendly and thriving community. We’ve had a great time meeting everyone and helping them to settle in, albeit at a safe distance, and look forward to being able to have lots more fun together as soon as restrictions allow.”

Plas Elyrch provides everything the over 60s could want for an enjoyable and independent retirement. The development is just a three-minute walk from Abergavenny High Street with its range of supermarkets, shops, cafes and restaurants, as well as being ideally located for travel further afield with both the train station and bus station within a mile.

The development features a homeowners’ lounge, ideal for socialising with friends; landscaped gardens; a convenient hotel-style guest suite, should homeowners have friends or relatives to stay; and a friendly House Manager who will oversee the development day-to-day.

More than nine out of 10 customers would recommend McCarthy Stone to a friend, ensuring it has received the full Five Star award for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation for 16 years’ running.  McCarthy Stone is the only UK housebuilder of any size or type to achieve this accolade for 16 consecutive years, which is every year the awards have been run.

McCarthy Stone also received the Housebuilder Special Recognition Award 2020 for working hard to protect its customers – Covid-19 infection rates among homeowners are significantly below the national rate of infection across all age groups – and for innovation in the retirement sector.
