4th December 2019

Residents at McCarthy Stone’s Retirement Living development in Brough have got into the festive spirit as they prepare to celebrate their first Christmas at Fairway View.

Donning Christmas jumpers and accessories, residents and staff enjoyed a glass of fizz and a Christmas buffet with a range of festive-themed games played throughout the day in the development’s stylish communal lounge which offers the perfect place for socialising.

More festive fun is planned at the development, with Fairway View welcoming Brough residents to the development on Friday 13th December for a Christmas sing-a-long from the Hunsley Singers. Attendees will have the opportunity to take a tour of the show apartments, relax in the communal lounge and chat with staff over a festive drink and mince pie.

The development has proven popular in the local community, with residents having the option of purchasing or renting an apartment, which include spacious living and dining areas, fully fitted modern kitchens with integrated appliances, and bedrooms with walk in wardrobes and luxury shower rooms. The development’s stylish guest suite is ideal for when friends or family come to stay.

For added peace-of-mind, a House Manager ensures the smooth-running of the development and a 24 hour emergency call system is available to all residents should assistance be needed day or night.

Donna Morrison, House Manager at Fairway View who helped organise the celebrations, said: “It was wonderful to be able to mark this first Christmas all together. We felt it was important to celebrate the occasion with everyone now settled in and enjoying life at the development. Our residents have, without a doubt, made Fairway View the thriving community it is and we look forward to celebrating many more Christmases to come!”

Brough is a small but affluent town on the northern banks of the Humber. The town centre has a range of key amenities including restaurants, cafés and shops, while those with a passion for sport can join the local Brough Golf Club and Blackburn Leisure Sports and Social Club. Public transport is easily accessible with buses running directly to Hull city centre, as well as overnight ferries sailing from nearby Hull to Rotterdam and Zeebrugge for a short getaway.

More than nine out of ten customers would recommend McCarthy Stone to a friend, ensuring it has received the full Five Star award for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation for 14 years’ running.  McCarthy Stone is the only UK housebuilder of any size or type to achieve this accolade for 14 years, which is every year the awards have been run.
