The McCarthy Stone team at the Pinnoc Mews Retirement Living development on Bakers Way in Exeter has donated £250 to the Exeter Foodbank.

The Exeter Foodbank was originally founded in 2008 by local churches and community groups to help local people in need. The donation by McCarthy Stone will help with the day-to-day running of the Foodbank, which offers three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to those who are in crisis.

Chas Malek, Sales Consultant from McCarthy Stone, presented the cheque to Mark Richardson, Manager of the Exeter Foodbank, alongside several volunteers.

Mark Richardson commented: “At the Exeter Foodbank, we are dedicated to supporting the local community as much as we can. We want to make sure that no one has to go hungry, however, in order to do this, we are dependent on the support of others. So, we are absolutely thrilled to have received £250 from McCarthy Stone, and we can’t thank the team at Pinnoc Mews enough.”

Geoff Bates, Head of Marketing for McCarthy Stone South, commented: “An important part of what we do here at McCarthy Stone is to support initiatives in the towns and communities in which we are building – to help create a lasting, positive legacy.

“It was an absolute pleasure to present this donation to the team at Exeter Foodbank. All of us here at Pinnoc Mews wish them every success with their work in helping to improve lives of so many within the community.”

Comprising a selection of 39 one and two-bedroom Retirement Living apartments, exclusively designed for people aged 60 and over, Pinnoc Mews provides everything residents could want for a relaxing retirement.

Pinnoc Mews features a communal lounge, which is perfect for socialising with new neighbours. Retirees can make the most of beautiful landscaped gardens knowing all the maintenance is taken care of; and many properties also include patios or balconies, so residents can enjoy the outdoors from their own apartment.

A House Manager takes care of the day-to-day running of Pinnoc Mews while a secure entry system and 24-hour emergency call system provide added peace-of-mind.

Prices at Pinnoc Mews currently start from £225,000 for a one-bedroom apartment. McCarthy Stone customers in Exeter can choose from a range of flexible Retirement Living solutions to suit them and their personal circumstances, whether they prefer to buy outright, rent at Pinnoc Mews or take advantage of a part buy, part rent option.

McCarthy Stone is also giving retirees the opportunity to live their retirement years to the full, by offering up to £5,000 off or one month’s rent free on selected apartments. The incentive is available for eligible buyers and renters who reserve an apartment at Pinnoc Mews before 29th February 2020*.
