McCarthy Stone, the house builder behind the forthcoming Retirement Living development on Beggarwood Lane in Basingstoke, has donated £250 to The HeartSmart Foundation, a nominated charity of the Mayor of Basingstoke.

One of the charities chosen by Cllr Diane Taylor, Mayor of Basingstoke, for 2019/20, The HeartSmart Foundation helps teachers and parents build children’s character, emotional health and resilience. The charity works with local schools to teach children about good relationships along with the importance of loving and accepting themselves as well as respecting others.

Cllr Diane Taylor, Mayor of Basingstoke, commented: “The HeartSmart Foundation is a wonderful charity that does some fantastic work supporting and educating the children of Basingstoke. I am thrilled that the team at McCarthy Stone chose to join me in lending their support and making a donation to the appeal.”

Peter Hay at The HeartSmart Foundation said: “A the HeartSmart Foundation we are committed to ensuring that children are given the best emotional start in life, but there is still much more work that can be done.

“For us to achieve this, we are dependent on the support of others, which is why we are absolutely thrilled to have the support of   Cllr Diane Taylor and the team at McCarthy Stone. The money will go a long way towards helping us to continue our important work.”

Geoff Bates, Head of Marketing for McCarthy Stone South, added: “An important part of what we do here at McCarthy Stone is support initiatives in the towns and communities in which we build to help create a lasting, positive legacy.

“It was an absolute pleasure to present this donation to the team at The HeartSmart Foundation. All of us here at McCarthy Stone in Basingstoke wish them every success with their work in helping to improve lives of so many within the community.”

McCarthy Stone’s Basingstoke development will feature a collection of one and two bedroom privately-owned apartments for people aged 60 and over who are looking for an enjoyable and independent retirement.

The shared lounge will be perfect for socialising with new neighbours, and homeowners will be able to make the most of the landscaped gardens knowing all the maintenance is taken care of. They will also be able to feel secure in the knowledge that the House Manager will be on hand to provide any help or support should they need it.

Apartments will be available to buy off-plan from summer 2020 and prospective purchasers are urged to register their interest now to receive updates.

More than nine out of ten customers would recommend McCarthy Stone to a friend, ensuring it has received the full Five Star award for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation for 14 years’ running.  McCarthy Stone is the only UK housebuilder of any size or type to achieve this accolade, which is every year the awards have been run.
