We celebrated the opening of our 500th community with Anton Du Beke!
Priory House in Banstead, Surrey is our 500th managed development and to mark this milestone, homeowners and colleagues came together for a celebration - with the help of special celebrity guest Anton Du Beke. The Strictly Come Dancing star delighted guests with a dancing display, even taking a few lucky homeowners for a spin around the dance floor.
Priory House offers retirement homes for sale of rent in Banstead for the over 60s. It’s proving extremely popular, with over 80% of properties sold. The first homeowners arrived in October last year and this Retirement Living development is quickly forming a thriving and supportive community.
McCarthy & Stone said the milestone highlights the ongoing need for more and better housing for older people across the country. The company thanked its 22,000 customers for the trust they place in McCarthy & Stone every day, supporting its aim to make later life a positive and fulfilling experience.
It also paid tribute to colleagues across the business, recognising their commitment to championing and supporting homeowners, which enables the company to deliver its services and build deep, long-term relationships with customers.
Housing Minister Rachel Maclean MP also welcomed the news, adding: “Increasing the supply and choice of specialist housing for older people is a priority for the government, which is especially important as the population ages. Offering older and more vulnerable people a better choice of accommodation to suit their changing needs can help them live independently and feel more connected to their communities.”
