Local retirees celebrated the start of the new season with a Spring Fair at McCarthy Stone’s Retirement Living development in Thornton Cleveleys, Burrstone Grange.

Taking place at the development on Poachers Way between, retirees enjoyed afternoon tea with a selection of fresh sandwiches and cakes, as well as live entertainment from the Bluebird Belles, a professional 1940s and vintage vocal harmony trio. The fair also raised money with a charity raffle for Coram Beanstalk, McCarthy Stone’s chosen national charity of the year which aims to tackle child illiteracy.

Andrew Millard, House Manager at Burrstone Grange, said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that turned up to our Spring Fair. The staff and homeowners really enjoyed themselves and it definitely added a spring to their step for the start of the new season. The live music from the Bluebird Belles was fantastic, who performed a catalogue of timeless songs from the 1940s which many of the homeowners and local retirees don’t get to hear anymore. Most importantly though, we were able to raise much-needed funds for a well-worthy cause!”

Features at Burrstone Grange include a stunning homeowners’ lounge, ideal for socialising with friends, beautifully landscaped outdoor areas in which to relax, and a hotel-style guest suite should homeowners have friends or relatives to stay. A House Manager takes care of the smooth-running of the development; while a security entrance system and 24-hour emergency call system provide added peace-of-mind for homeowners and their families.

Prices for the remaining properties at Burrstone Grange currently start from £110,000 for a one bedroom apartment and £209,999 for a two-bedroom apartment.

With its 11 mile stretch of coastline, Thornton-Cleveleys is a haven for downsizers. Burrstone Grange homeowners benefit from being within close proximity of a variety of shops and local amenities, including a monthly farmers’ market. For those who wish to explore the surrounding areas, there are convenient regular bus links to Blackpool and Morecambe.

More than nine out of ten customers would recommend McCarthy Stone to a friend, ensuring it has received the full Five Star award for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation for 14 years’ running. McCarthy Stone is the only UK housebuilder of any size or type to achieve this accolade for 14 years, which is every year the awards have been run.
