Homeowners and staff at McCarthy Stone’s Alton Retirement Living Plus development, Austen Place, on Lower Turk Street, did not let the rain dampen their spirits when they opened their doors to local retirees for a summer open day.
Guests may not have been able to make the most of the landscaped gardens – thanks to the great British weather – but they took the opportunity to enjoy a glass of Pimm’s in the homeowners’ lounge at Austen Place. All those who attended the special event were also invited to take a closer look at the development and to have a tour of the recently-unveiled show complex. Visitors also spent time chatting to the McCarthy Stone team, and retirees who are already living at the development.
Ciara Hilley, Divisional Marketing Manager for McCarthy Stone, said: “Our summer open day was a great success and it was a pleasure to welcome so many local people through the doors. Events such as this give us the chance to showcase the sense of community and companionship all retirees can enjoy here at Austen Place, and to provide people with an insight into the lives homeowners enjoy at the development.”
Comprising a selection of 56 one and two bedroom Retirement Living Plus apartments, exclusively designed for people aged 70 and over, Austen Place provides everything homeowners could want for a relaxing retirement.
The development features a luxurious homeowners’ lounge – a shared space where homeowners can come together and socialise over a cup of tea – and a bistro restaurant serving freshly prepared meals daily for those who do not wish to cook in their apartments.
Flexible domestic and personalised care packages are available for homeowners, which can be tailored to provide varying levels of support according to individual needs. An Estates Team is on site around the clock and there is also an emergency call system for added peace-of-mind for homeowners and their families.
A picturesque market town in Hampshire, Alton is known for its connections to Jane Austen – whose former home is open to the public – and other historic buildings. There is a popular Tuesday market, and the town features several vintage boutiques, a sports centre, and a number of supermarkets.
Prices for the final remaining properties at Austen Place currently start from £259,950 for a one bedroom apartment and from £455,000 for a two bedroom apartment. Each individual apartment has either a balcony or patio.
More than nine out of ten customers would recommend McCarthy Stone to a friend, ensuring it has received the full Five Star award for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation for 14 years’ running. McCarthy Stone is the only UK housebuilder of any size or type to achieve this accolade, which is every year the awards have been run.
