Living in Chelmsford

Chelmsford has plenty of historic and cultural attractions, including the 18 arch Victoria Railway Viaduct, which carries the Great Eastern Main Line through Central Park. Chelmsford Cathedral is also a popular destination for tourists in the area. There are a number of stately homes close by too, including Hylands House, with impressive and expansive gardens open to the public.

If you’re a lover of nature, gardening and the great outdoors, Warley Place Nature Reserve is only 15 miles from the proposed development. This 25 acre reserve once belonged to the leading horticulturalist Ellen Wilmott, who planted many species of plants, shrubs and trees from all over the world. The gardens are now maintained by Essex Wildlife Trust, and make an excellent day out during the summer months.

If you’re a sports enthusiast, Chelmsford City Football Club, Essex County Cricket Club, Chelmsford Golf Club, and Chelmsford Bowling Club are all within the vicinity of the proposed development. There’s also a leisure centre in Chelmsford which runs regular sports and exercise classes including pilates, yoga and Zumba. Chelmsford town centre is only a 15 minute walk from the proposed development, and has everything a resident could need. There’s a wealth of high street stores within High Chelmer Shopping Centre, as well as plenty of restaurants, pub, cafes and bars to suit every taste.

Outside the town centre you’ll find the leafy expanse of Admirals Park, which the River Can cuts through the middle of, and which is just minutes from the development. There’s also a supermarket just 0.1 mile from the complex, and a doctor’s surgery, a dentists, a Post Office, a hairdressers, a florist, a butchers and even a theatre under half a mile away.
