On 12th December we’re hosting a special festive event so you can come along and experience what Christmas is like here at Tumbling Weir Court. There will be music and mince pies in our communal lounge. You’ll also have the chance to take a tour of our development and chat with members of our friendly, welcoming community. A performance by a local choir will start at 11am.

Ottery St. Mary, also known as Ottery, boasts a delightful location in East Devon, just a stone's throw from the county's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Though residents enjoy this charming, quiet, rural town, they can also benefit from easy access to major destinations, including Exeter, Taunton, Honiton and Stafford Cross.

Ottery's most significant building is St. Mary's church, a magnificent structure that dates back to the 14th century. The church contains many historical treasures, including a stunning astronomical clock. Ottery's nursery and garden centre is also a favourite amongst locals. There is a good range of amenities within the town, including a Post Office, supermarkets and various eateries. There are also plenty of lovely walks on offer, particularly the classic stroll down the River Otter, where you can discover our very own development's namesake, the swirling Tumbling Weir.

Ottery St. Mary has an interesting calendar events, including June's infamous Pixie Day, which was inspired by the legend of mischievous pixies. Come bonfire night, don't be surprised to witness men running down the streets with flaming barrels of tar on their shoulders, a tradition allocated specifically to born-and-bred Ottery residents. You're also sure to enjoy Ottery's other quaint customs, such as the Ottery Song that bellows from the church three times a day.

Ottery St. Mary is conveniently located in the midst of stunning countryside, which offers many opportunities for days out. Those with a penchant for history should certainly visit the Tudor manor house Cadhay, while keen walkers and animal-lovers are sure to enjoy Escot's pleasant gardens, woodland, aquatic centre and maze.
