Come bonfire night, don't be surprised to witness men running down the streets with flaming barrels of tar on their shoulders, a tradition allocated specifically to born-and-bred Ottery residents. You're also sure to enjoy Ottery's other quaint customs, such as the Ottery Song that bellows from the church three times a day.
