Things to do in Maghull
Maghull is a popular town in Merseyside, to the north of Liverpool and south of Ormskirk. This retirement development is within walking distance of Maghull Central Square which has a good range of shops and facilities. You’ll also find St Andrew Church of England and a Parish Hall nearby and the town has plenty of quality restaurants, cafes and pubs for all tastes. Michelin starred Moor Hall is 3 miles down the road in Aughton and Ormskirk holds a weekly artisan food market. Maghull Cricket club can be found just off the A59.
The lovely Leeds and Liverpool canal towpath can be accessed from the new retirement development, providing loads of opportunities for walking, boating and wildlife-watching.
For walks slightly further afield, nearby Sefton Meadows is an attractive forest park that includes Jubilee Woods, planted to celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee in 2002. The nearest sandy beach and coastal paths are a bus ride away in Crosby. You can also visit Antony Gormley’s iconic sculptures.
Aintree Racecourse, best known for the Grand National, is also within easy travel distance and the largest independent annual flower show is held in Southport every August.
