Knutsford is a bustling town with a great community feel and a lot to offer. On the first Sunday of every month, from 11am to 4pm, the town hosts one of the biggest artisan markets in the UK. Here you can find fine food, drinks, art, jewellery, gifts and crafts that cater for a variety of tastes. The town also holds a two-day Christmas market in December. Here, over 100 different stalls sell food, drinks, crafts and gifts.
A number of other annual events are also held in Knutsford throughout the year. One of the highlights of the town’s calendar is its Royal May Day celebration. The first Saturday in May sees a procession through the town and the crowning of the May Queen – a tradition that first began in 1864. The town’s local membership club, Knutsford Lions, is actively involved in a wide variety of community activities, and the Lions Street Fair is held annually, where you can enjoy music, fairground rides, competitions and a wide variety of food and drink stalls. And if that’s not enough, the town also hosts an annual beer festival!
With Altrincham 9 miles away, central Manchester 19 miles away and Liverpool 32.5 miles away, Knutsford is well placed for day trips near and far. The town is also surrounded by a number of charming small towns and villages, including Hale, Alderly Edge, Pickmere, Mobberley, High Leigh, Great Budworth, Handforth and Wilmslow.
The fabulous Tatton Park is also less than 3 miles from the development. With 50 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, a Tudor Old Hall, a mansion and 1000 acres of deer park and rare breed park, you couldn’t ask for a more majestic place to spend a crisp spring day.
And for the golfers among you, there’s Knutsford Golf Club. The course offers 9 holes set in beautiful rolling Cheshire countryside, with magnificent mature trees, picturesque lakes and views over Tatton Park’s 1000-acre estate. Visitors are more than welcome and the club is always happy to accept new members.
