Kidlington, Oxfordshire, is the second largest village in the country. It is set in a lovely rural location between the River Cherwell and the Oxford Canal, just a few miles from Oxford city centre and close to Blenheim Palace. The oldest part of the village: Mill Street, Church Street and the High Street is a Conservation Area with attractive historic buildings including St Mary’s, a magnificent limestone church which dates back to 1220.

Things to do in Kidlington

Despite its rural setting, the village has all the contemporary amenities you’ve come to expect, with supermarkets, a retail park and a lively market on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as several pubs, cafes and restaurants. Sports facilities include a bowls club and Kidlington and Gosford Leisure Centre which has a swimming pool, fitness classes and a gym. There’s a strong community spirit centred around Kidlington Library, Exeter Hall and the three churches, with regular events and activities from weekly ‘knit and natter’ to annual fireworks displays.

For a change of scene, the picturesque city of Oxford is just 4 miles away and easily accessed by bus. Here you’ll find a vibrant culture and unique historic attractions and museums, including the incredible architecture of the World’s most respected university. Oxford Parkway railway station is less than two miles from our retirement properties in Kidlington making it easy to explore the South East of England and beyond.
