Whitley Bay is a beautiful and desirable coastal town in the North East of England. As soon as you arrive in the area, you’ll see the iconic St Mary’s Lighthouse, which stands on its own island and also features a nature reserve and a wetland habitat. If you’d like to learn more about the area, there’s even a visitor centre.
Another of the town’s main attractions is the golden beach, known as Tynemouth Longsands. This leads to neighbouring Tynemouth and it’s a popular place to enjoy the sun and watch as the surfers take to the waves. There’s also a beautiful promenade you can stroll across and plenty of places where you can grab fish and chips.
The development will also be located close to the Spanish City area, which was recently redeveloped. It now features play areas for kids, a swimming pool, a new library and a playhouse. If you’d rather explore the charms of central Newcastle and visit its many shopping districts, then Whitley Bay has its own Metro station that can take you straight there. Journeys take under half an hour and the service is direct.
If you’d rather experience some natural beauty, then our retirement properties in Whitley Bay are under an hour away from Northumberland National Park and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
- Conveniently situated close to these local amenities:
- Theatre
- Restaurant
- Local Shop
If you’d like to spend a day on the beach, then you’ll be able to reach the seafront in 0.3 miles. Or, you’ll have a choice of three local parks and recreation grounds within 0.7 miles.
Visiting the centre of Newcastle is easy, too. There will be a Metro station within 1 mile of the development and this will take you directly to the city centre in 27 minutes
