The Hampton area is under continuing development. In fact, since 1997 up to 500 homes have been built each year. A new site is currently under construction near the McCarthy Stone Retirement Living property which, when completed, will contain an Aldi, a Costa Coffee and a Greene King public house.

Hampton's many lakes and canals are all accessible thanks to footpaths and bridges, dotted with convenient benches. Residents can sit and watch the local wildlife, such as swans and ducks, gliding around the 2,500-acre Hamptons site from lake to lake.
