If you’re aiming for an active retirement then the popular Daventry Leisure Centre which has a swimming pool, sports courts, a gym and fitness classes, is located within a 10 minute walk from our new retirement property in Daventry, but it’s the outdoor activities that make the town really special. Choose from golf at Daventry & District Golf Club or bowling at Daventry Town Bowling Club.

The town is blessed with lots of green space for nature walks. The award-winning Daventry Country Park has circular trails around the reservoir, in the woodlands or through the meadows. The local Whilton Locks, made up of seven locks on the Grand Union Canal, provides a picturesque spot for a stroll, canoe or a narrow boat cruise.

 

With the M1 and M6 within easy reach, Daventry has excellent transport links to the wider world. The Long Buckby railway station is the nearest train station and has direct routes to London Euston and Birmingham. And for holidays abroad Birmingham Airport is just an hour away.
