Retire to Idle
The historic village of Idle is now a suburb of the city of Bradford. It was named after the uncultivated - or idle - moorland surrounding it - and Idle Moor is a nature reserve to this day.
Local retirees love:
- The convenience of a multitude of local amenities, including an Aldi, independent shops, pubs, cafes, a library and healthcare providers.
- Green open spaces, like the bird-friendly wetlands of Rodley Nature Reserve or Lister Park and Gardens which has a boating lake, cafe, tennis, bowls, botanical gardens and an Islamic water garden.
- The golf courses nearby include Bradford Moor Golf Club, Woodhall Hills Golf Club and Calverley Golf Club.
- Easy access to central Bradford, or Shipley, just a short bus rides away.
