Ottery St Mary retirees raise money for local East Devon Hospiscare
Local retirees at McCarthy Stone’s Tumbling Weir Court Retirement Living development in Ottery St Mary helped to spread some festive cheer and raise money for East Devon Hospiscare.
The team at our development, Tumbling Weir Court held a special Christmas raffle, offering prizes such as a Christmas hamper, wine and chocolates that were donated by Tesco in Ottery St Mary. Thanks to generous donations, the team raised a fantastic £50 for East Devon Hospiscare, which enabled the Hospice to provide Christmas lunch for two families while their relatives received specialist care.
The raffle was drawn by East Devon Hospiscare Community Fundraiser, Toni Hiscock, and the winners, Tumbling Weir Court homeowners, Mr and Mrs Dean, were presented with the festive hamper just in time for Christmas.
Toni Hiscocks, East Devon Hospiscare Community Fundraiser, commented: “Last year was full of unprecedented challenges, so it was really important that we were still able to provide families with Christmas lunch to make this difficult time a little easier for them. We would like to say thank you to the homeowners and team at Tumbling Weir Court for their kind donation, the money raised provided Christmas lunch with all the trimmings for two families of four.”
