Wheatley Place welcomes TikTok star Grandad Joe
We recently welcomed TikTok sensation, Grandad Joe, to our new Retirement Living Plus development, Wheatley Place in Shirley, to check out the lifestyle on offer and film some entertaining content for his avid social media fans in the process.
Much-loved across the globe, Grandad Joe rose to social media fame after sharing videos of himself keeping busy at home during lockdown. His witty, tongue-in-cheek humour and loveable character have seen him reach over 5.5 million followers on the channel, and his videos show the world just how much fun retirees are having.
Here, we give you a sneak peek of what Grandad Joe got up to during his visit, from relaxing in the wellness suite and indulging in a drink on the stunning roof terrace to trying out the exercise studio and putting his painting skills to the test in the arts and crafts room. He even managed to get a bit of golf practice in on the putting green – all in his own hilarious way of course.
Grandad Joe said: “I had a fantastic day visiting Wheatley Place and trying out all of its amenities – there was more than enough to keep me busy all day. We filmed some brilliant content showing how we retirees like to make the most of life. It was just a shame I had to leave!”
