The Housing Ombudsman service

McCarthy & Stone adheres to the Housing Ombudsman’s Complaint Handling Code which ensures tenants are treated fairly.

The Housing Ombudsman is a free, independent and impartial organisation which resolves disputes between tenants and landlords.

The Housing Ombudsman’s Complaint Handling Code sets out requirements for us as a landlord which detail how we must handle complaints. Compliance with the code forms part of our obligations as a Registered Social Landlord.

The Housing Ombudsman also require us to produce an annual Complaints Performance and Service Improvement Report and carry out a Self-Assessment against the Complaints Handling Code. You can read our most recent Report and Self-Assessment here:
