Living in Eaton

Eaton is an attractive village, historically renown for brewing and roses, with thatched cottages, period charm and an unusual traditional painted wooden sign featuring an elephant holding a barrel. Added in 1956, it is thought to be a play on the village name: ‘e’ for elephant with a ‘tun’ (barrel). With shops, eateries and sports and leisure facilities on the doorstep, including festivals and events held at the gorgeous 80-acre Eaton Park, you won’t be short of thing to do in Eaton. Fun fact: Aryton Senna once lived in a bungalow in Eaton!

Eaton has regular transport connections to nearby Norwich with its many historic and interesting places to visit, including Norwich Cathedral, Norwich Castle, Felbrigg Hall and the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts.

The stunning scenery, wildlife and waterways of the Norfolk Broads National Park are also easily accessible from Eaton. Explore by boat or via the many footpaths and towpaths, stopping in quaint country pubs along the way.

You are also within easy reach of the seaside - the Pleasure Beach at Great Yarmouth is just over half an hour’s drive away and you can reach the unspoilt beauty of Southwold in under an hour.
