Living in Gloucester
Sitting in the heart of the beautiful Cotswolds, Gloucester is home to the country’s most inland port and is a peaceful and pretty place to call home. Having been a settlement since Roman times, the area boasts a rich history and benefits from a range of attractions, both within the city itself, and in the stunning rural landscapes that surround it.
The proposed McCarthy Stone development will sit right at the centre of one of the city’s most popular areas. The Quays area of Gloucester is a particular favourite for visitors and for locals, offering an eclectic mix of museums, waterside eateries, bars and shops, including a large Designer Outlet shop. The Quay’s centre includes a pharmacy and local dentist as well as a wealth of independent and national retailers.
Gloucester city is located just five miles from the M5 motorway and is also home to a mainline train station with regular services to London Paddington, Cardiff Central and Birmingham New Street. The station is easily accessed via local bus services from the development. Easy access to local road routes and public transport options create good links to surrounding areas including Cheltenham, Hartpury, Churcham, Twigworth, Great Witcombe, Barnwood and Rudford.
- Conveniently situated close to these local amenities:
- Gloucester City Winget Cricket Club
- Gloucester Quays Outlet
- Gloucester Docks
- Marks and Spencers
The development is under 0.5 miles from the Gloucester Quays outlet shopping centre. Here you’ll find a number of fashion retailers, popular restaurants and a Cineworld cinema.
The beautiful Historic Docks of Gloucester are just 0.3 miles away. This is a great spot to admire the Victorian architecture, explore two museums, visit the micro-brewery and join guided tours around the docks.
