THE LOCAL AREA

Living in Stafford

Stafford offers the perfect retirement destination,with plenty of local attractions, an interesting historical past, a wide range of amenities and attractive nearby countryside. Victoria Park is less than a mile from the proposed development and stretches for 13 acres and includes scenic riverside walks and relaxing wooded and grassland areas.

The town has an Anglo Saxon medieval feel with many historic and attractive buildings such as the Ancient High House and Sir Isaac Walton's cottage. The town centre is only 0.3 miles from the development and holds indoor markets on Earl Street every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. There you'll find a range of crafts, local produce, jewellery, clothing and gifts. There is also a popular Farmers' Market held on the second day of every month in Market Square.

Stafford also boosts a wide range of high street chain stores interspersed with independent shops and boutiques to make a unique and attractive shopping experience. There's also plenty of popular cafes, pubs and restaurants. Stafford is home to many cultural attractions, including the Gatehouse Theatre, the Shire Hall Gallery, and the town's library and art gallery, all of which show seasonal productions and exhibitions catering to a variety of tastes.
